I am pleased to announce that after a couple years of trying, this year's Fall Sprint Adventure Race will be held at Rock Cut State Park! This is a big step forward for the race as it opens the door for all kinds of possibilities as far as navigation, biking, and paddling goes.
The Fat Otter Fall Sprint is a sprint length adventure race geared for those hoping to try out adventure racing as well as for those experienced athletes who would like a day out in the woods. All the traditional elements of adventure racing will be incorporated ensuring a genuine and fun experience for all who are racing.
Teams of 2 will navigate the course using map and compass. Sections will include orienteering, paddling (watercraft are provided and are also a secret), and biking. There may also be some team challenges in there somewhere, but that will be a surprise as well. All participants and teams will be required to carry certain gear throughout the event (see required gear list).
The race has a 6 hour cutoff although many teams will finish before then. After, stick around for the traditional Fat Otter post race celebration where we will provide food and beverage for all participants. This is also a great opportunity to share your stories with each other.
There will be a FREE beginner clinic in the weeks prior to the event, so be sure to check the event listing.
****NOTE: THOSE WHO ARE NOT REGISTERED AND PAID IN FULL BY 11/9 CAN NO LONGER BE GUARANTEED A RACE T-SHIRT
ATTENTION - THE FALL SPRINT ADVENTURE RACE HAS BEEN CANCELLED Due to only one paid registration and less than a month left before the race, the decision had to be made to cancel the event. For those of you waiting to register, please try to get your registrations in sooner as planning and investment cannot continue to go forward without enough confirmed participants. I hope to see everyone next year.
