F.A.Q:

Q. Do we need a support crew?

A. No, there will be no support allowed. You will return to the start area more than once where you will have access to your gear and food.

Q. What map scale will be used for the race?

A. The map scales during the race will vary

Q. What are conditions / terrain going to be like?

A. Based on average temperatures for that time of the year, I would expect temperatures to top out in the 80s and bottom out in the 60s. The terrain in the area is generally hilly, however you may also pass through some low laying marsh areas as well.

Q. Will we need to plot any UTM coordinates?

A. Yes! If you are unfamiliar with UTM plotting, www.maptools.com has some valuable information as well as plotting tools.

Q. Do we need our own watercraft?

A. Yes. This year you will need to bring your own watercraft.  See the required gear list for details.

Q. Can we use our own maps?

A. No. You may only use the maps provided

Q. What will the ropes portion consist of?

A. Details about the ropes portion will be given at the pre-race meeting. I can say that no technical ropes skills will be required and knowledgeable staff will be present to assist teams if needed.
